Deaths feared in bomb blast in northern Nigeria

A number of people are feared dead in a bomb
explosion in the town of Mubi in north-eastern
Nigeria's Adamawa state.
A police officer quoted by the AFP news agency
said the bomb struck a crowd at a football match
and dozens may have died, but this has not been
confirmed.
However, Reuters news agency quoted sources
as saying that the victims had been watching a
televised match.
Boko Haram militants are active in the area but
no-one has yet said they carried out the attack.
